Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Difference between bringing my car to a drive through hand or machine wash and a Pure auto detail service?
This is a pretty loaded question that we get a lot. In short, its the quality of the end result. Now how we get there may take some elaboration. From the start of your appointment your detail technician will provide a consultation. During this we will discuss with the customer any problem areas they want addressed and provide expectations for the agreed service. Next, the technician will begin a methodical and thorough cleaning of the vehicles interior and exterior. Extra precaution is taken in every area to ensure the vehicle drives off in pristine condition, leaving every area we worked on in better condition then we found it. From safe exterior wash practices, to properly PH balanced interior chemicals. The reason you are having a professional detail done is to improve the appearance and sanitation of your vehicle, not to introduce new areas of concern.
Do i as the customer need to provide a power or water hook up?
No, our van is equipped with everything needed to complete all of the services we have to offer. From an on-board generator to a spot-free water reservoir. The only thing we ask from our customers if possible, is an ample amount of space for both vehicles( your vehicle and our detail van), as well as a shaded area. After all, best practice for washing and applying chemicals to a vehicle is out of direct sunlight.
Which chemicals will be used on my vehicle?
Our chemicals are of a premium line up, primarily imported through our distributor from Germany. They are purpose made for detailing vehicles at the professional level, not something you will find at your local hardware or auto part stores. They provide an easy to understand Ph scale and organize the products similar to a table of elements. This insures the technician can utilize just enough “bite” when its needed and stay soft when they don’t. What precautions are taken to ensure no scratching or marring is introduced during the exterior wash process?
This is a great question, and definitely an area we believe deserves special attention. All of our detailing services will include a Foam-Rinse-Foam wash. This means first the vehicle will be sprayed with a high alkaline pre-wash that will then be rinsed off before any physical contact with the cars paint is made. This ensures the majority of heavy dirt and silt is washed away and sets up for a low risk hand wash on the next stage. Once both wash stages are completed the vehicle will be primarily dried using a blower, once again creating a contact free process. The remaining water will then be absorbed using an ultra-plush microfiber drying towel, with the use of a drying aid product to create extra lubrication between the towel and paints surface. We believe this process creates the best streak-free, show room finish with out the risk of scratching or marring your precious paint work.
is a Deposit required when booking an appointment?
No, a deposit is not required to book an appointment with us. All that is needed is a short form to be filled out that will better familiarize us with the service you are requesting. This form will be found at the end of your booking process.
What happens if my appoinment needs to be rescheduled due to inclement weather?
As we all know by now, weather here in south Florida can be unpredictable and inconvenient to say the least. In the event of inclement weather, your detail technician will call you to find the next convenient date that also fits in to our scheduling. This will usually be within 1-3 business days of the original appointment.
What is upholstery extraction, and in what scenario do i need it?
Carpet and upholstery extraction is a deep cleaning process that uses specialized machines to apply a cleaning solution and water to soft fabrics, then powerful vacuums to extract the dirty liquid, leaving the seats and carpets clean and sanitized. This method is most effective at tackling deep stains, and soiled carpets and/or upholstery fabrics. This process is carried out in our Executive level interior cleaning service.
What is a ceramic coating, and what happened to good ol’Fashion Wax?
Just like our phones and computers, the world of detailing is constantly evolving with new technologies, chemicals and methods. While it still has its place in auto detailing, the wax we are all familiar with has been superseded by the superior finish and protection of ceramic coatings. Most wax products are an organic compound extracted from the carnauba palms found throughout Brazil. While it does leave a beautiful, deep gloss on paint work, its organic make up means it is no where near as resilient as ceramic coatings. A ceramic coating comes in liquid form, and is made up of primarily silicon dioxide(along with other polymers and solvents). Once cured, these compounds form a durable, glass-like protective layer that bonds to the surface, providing hardness, UV resistance, and a hydrophobic, water-repellent finish. If properly maintained these coatings can offer years of protection, where a traditional wax would be expended in a matter of months.
